Welcome to Our Nursery!

We want to come along side parents to help nurture and grow your child's faith.
We have two nurseries; a baby nursery for ages birth - 20 months and a toddler nursery for ages 21 months- 36 months. Both nurseries are open during all Sunday morning and Wednesday night ministry.

We strive to create a calming yet fun and engaging environment for babies in our nursery program. Our volunteers have a genuine heart for infants and desire the utmost quality care.

Nursery Workers Responsibilities: /files/Kids/Nursery/crib_3334c2_web.jpg

  • Safety: is our # 1 priority. From the check in desk to the changing table, and all areas in between.
  • Cleanliness: diaper changing, making sure infants are free of spit-up and other messes. We thoroughly clean all areas where children have access to toys and snacks, bottles, or sippy cups.
  • Comfort: whether it's a teething baby, or a Mom who needs a hug after a rough day. Our goal is an environment of peace.
  • Communication: we will strive to let you know of your child's performance in our care. Please feel free to let us know how our performance is as well.

 Special Note to Nursing Mothers:

We have a private room especially for nursing Moms; it has its own rocking chair and changing station. We also have a portable crib available in this room for babies to nap in as well. The room is located just inside the baby nursery entryway. _________________________________________________________________________________

The same care and devotion that we place in the Baby room also gets applied to the toddlers as well: safety, cleanliness, comfort, and communication.

Toddler Room Worker Responsibilities:

  • /files/Kids/toddler scheduledate_6690c1_web.jpgTeachable Moments: Our volunteers support the process of helping your toddler learn valuable skills in a grace-filled atmosphere. We use a curriculum to show our young ones how to be involved in worship that is on their level and how to begin to connect with the Bible and God.
  • Snack time: We do provide a snack during worship services. If you have concerns or your child has food allergies please let us know.
  • Play time: We realize how much your toddler learns through play. We make sure they have plenty of play time to interact with the other kids and the volunteers as well . We want them to learn of God's love while having a fun-filled experience.

We talked a lot about our responsibilities, and we can not do what we do without your help. Here are a few important responsibilities we would ask you to consider:

 Parent Responsibilities:

  • Healthy kids: In order to ensure the health and safety of our babies and toddlers, we graciously ask that if your child is sick (i.e.: fever, runny nose, cough, vomiting, etc) please do not bring them to the nursery that service. We do our best to keep everyone healthy, and this would help a great deal. We understand there can be exceptions, specifically with teething. We appreciate your understanding.
  • VOLUNTEER: If your child takes part in our nursery, we would ask that you volunteer. You have many different options: once a month, once a quarter, special occasions (Date night, Wednesday nights, holidays or other functions), or even on the sub list, to fill in when a regular volunteer is unable to make it. We need you. Our Nursery Ministry is only as good as the Volunteers that help make it possible, and we would love for you to be part of our group that ministers God's love to the smallest members here at Rimrock Church. Any adults working with kids will have a background check. Click here to find the consent form; please fill out & return to the office.

Check In Procedure:
Parents must sign their children in. There is a computer sign in desk next to the baby's nursery entryway. Once your children have been signed in you will receive a printed name tag and receipt with coordinating numbers on them. The tag must be stuck to the back of your child, and the receipt is for you to keep. The receipt is used for both picking up your child, and in the event that you need to be paged to the nursery. We also have a clipboard with manual sign in sheets for visitors and those who have not yet been inputted in to the computer system. Once checked in, please hand your diaper bag to a volunteer and they will stow in the cubbies. Make sure to note any special instructions, including any allergies, on the sign in sheet. Please wait until a volunteer can take your child from your arms, this will help make the transition into the nursery smoother. We also ask that parents not linger in the nursery as this can cause congestion for other parents as well as make the drop off more difficult for the child.

Paging Procedures:

Your receipt has a code number on it that will identify your child. If there is an instance where we would need your assistance, this number will be flashed on the large screen in the sanctuary, or if you are attending a morning growth class, we will come and find you in the classroom you have indicated. If after check-in, your child cries for more than ten minutes without stopping we will page you to help him/her to calm down. Check Out Procedure Children will only be released to parents, unless the parent has made arrangements prior to check out. Siblings or other family members picking up the child must be prearranged and be 14 years or older. They must also have the receipt from the printer at the check in counter. Children will not be released to someone without the receipt. This is to ensure that children are not released to someone other than a parent.

Crackers and cookies will be provided to children old enough to have them. We also provide sippy cups or bottles for water. If you would like your child to have formula, milk or juice, please send that with your child. Again, if your child has a food allergy, please make a special note on the sign in sheet so that we can be aware of it. You may also provide special snacks for your child.

Discipline Policy:
Our nursery workers are never permitted to use corporal punishment. If a child is acting inappropriately we will try to redirect the child's attention to another activity. If the child is old enough a time out may be given if redirection does not work. Time outs are equal to the child's age. If your child is two, they would get a two minute time out. If the child's poor behavior persists we will page the parent.

Diapering Procedure:
Parents are welcome and encouraged to use our changing table. We ask that you follow the following procedures; this will help maintain a clean and healthy nursery. These procedures are also followed be those caring for your children. After you have changed your child and disposed of the dirty diaper, please use a Clorox wipe to wipe down the changing mat and other areas that may have gotten soiled. Be sure to wash your hands thoroughly, this will help in maintaining a clean environment for our children.
